Lyse S. Strnad, M.D.



Dr. Strnad began practicing as a general ophthalmologist in Iowa City in 1987.

She is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and serves as an Associate Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. She served as President of the Iowa Academy of Ophthalmology. During college, she played intercollegiate field hockey at Stanford University, and played in the first National tournament.

She continues to serve Stanford as an Alumni Volunteer Interviewer. With her reduced practice schedule she is able to volunteer for Liberty High School, Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity, Red Cedar Chamber Music, community theater and her church.

She enjoys hunting for Morel and Golden Oyster Mushrooms, keeping six hives of honeybees, her book club and horseback riding with her husband and skiing with her husband and two boys.
